You are warmly invited to the Heartland Baha’i School 2017!

Friday, July 14, 2017 – Sunday, July 16, 2017

THEME: Hope and the Family

Join the Baha’is and the friends of the Baha’i Faith for a loving and nurturing weekend. The school curriculum will focus on the institution of the family and its members’ spiritual and economic hopes. All will study cooperation, reciprocity, fellowship, and other spiritual concepts modeled in stories of ‘Abdu’l-Baha. School participants will also consider the Baha’i Law of Huquq’ullah as an act that revitalizes an individual’s or family’s spiritual connection to Baha’i institutions and as a reform to the imbalanced economics of our world. All are welcome! Through Forum Theater all will get the theatrical opportunity to transform uncomfortable conversational situations into loving, meaningful exchanges. Rhythm and song will also be incorporated into the weekend.

We hope to see you!

Sincerely,
Heartland Baha’i School Committee

Invitation to Teachers of Baha’i Children’s Classes

Tutor Training, specifically for facilitating Ruhi Book 3 (Grade 1, at at first) — Increasing capacity to raise up any interested person, Baha’i or not, youth or adult, desiring to serve as a teacher of children’s spiritual education July 8-9, Minneapolis Baha’i Center.  Pre-registration is required.

Dearly loved Teachers of Spiritual Education for Children,

You are warmly invited to attend a training for tutors of Book 3, Grade 1 on Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9, 2017. The weekend is sponsored by members of the Training Institute in collaboration with several local Spiritual Assemblies.

This weekend study is designed to raise capacity for serving as a tutor of Book 3, Grade 1: Teaching Children’s Classes. It will be essential that you have already studied Book 3 (in any of its versions), have studied Book 7: Walking Together on a Path of Service, and have taught some of the lessons of Grade 1 with children.

We will study portions of the recent Training Institute document from the International Teaching Center, review relevant portions of Book 7, and focus on the teacher’s portions of Book 3, Grade 1. The goal is to increase the number and quality of tutors of Book 3 to raise up any interested person, Baha’i or not, youth or adult desiring to serve as a teacher of children’s spiritual education based on the Teachings of Baha’u’llah.

Later in the summer, August 12-13, there will be an opportunity to study Book 3, Grade 2 and September 23-24 to study Book 3, Grade 3. The August and September gatherings will both be training for teachers of grades 2 and 3 as well as for tutors. We are hoping to determine your preferred location for these gatherings. When the location has been decided you will have the opportunity to register for the Grades 2 and 3 training sessions. For now, kindly indicate your location preference using the same link you would use to register for the Grade 1 training.

Please register for training for tutors of Book 3, Grade 1 as soon as possible, but no later than June 18. The study will be Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9 at the Baha’i Center (3644 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407). We will meet from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday (yes, we know it’s a long day!). Sunday we will begin at 8:30 am and end at noon to allow the friends to attend Holy Day commemorations for the Martyrdom of the Bab. Lunch and supper on Saturday, as well as light refreshments in the morning and afternoon both days will be provided. The friends in the Minneapolis area will make arrangements for accommodations for travelers and childcare needed for families traveling with children. Please indicate your needs when completing registration.

Kindly bring this invitation to the attention of any in your community who teach or have taught children’s classes. We look forward to learning together!

“Among the greatest of all services that can possibly be rendered by man to Almighty God is the education and training of children, young plants of the Abhá Paradise, so that these children, fostered by grace in the way of salvation, growing like pearls of divine bounty in the shell of education, will one day bejewel the crown of abiding glory.”

Milwaukee County Cluster Reflection Meeting

The Milwaukee County Cluster Reflection Meeting:
An important part of Baha’i community life

Date: Friday, 16 September, from 7 – 9 p.m.

We invite you to join us in our efforts to carry on the “sacrificial
work that has gone before it, opening the way for a new stage” to
achieve the aim of our current Five Year Plan.

It is our hope that we plan, commit to and realize individual and
collective goals for the upcoming two-week Expansion Cycle. As we move
forward, we appreciate that learning together unites our actions into
an emerging mode of operation.

Let us all come together to learn from past experience and revise
action accordingly, to “make each morrow richer than its yesterday”.
