December Meeting of “From the Same Dust”

UNFORTUNATELY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION IN JANUARY 2019
Dear Friends,

We hope you join us at our next meeting on Dec 13 at 6:30 pm. We have
not met in a while due to life’s twists and turns, so this is the
continuation of our last meeting. At the first meeting, we were
sharing writings, consulting and talking about where we want our group
to go moving forward. Our second meeting was focused and action plan
oriented with connecting it to the 5 year plan. We are continuing to
develop our action plan at this meeting. You do not have to make a
commitment to be part of the action plan to attend this meeting unless
of course you choose to do that. We would certainly welcome that
participation! It is just helpful to us to have additional input in
our consultation process for this part of the meeting.

Since we are speaking about the action plan and the 5 year plan, this
meeting will be for Baha’is. We hope you can join us!

Reading the last couple of feast letters prior to coming would be
helpful. Especially recommended is “Teaching and the Quest for
Justice,” dated Jan. 31, 2018 and the “Message for the Feast of
Qudrat,” dated Nov. 3rd, 2018 along with the letter and the excerpt
from the Universal House of Justice linked therein. These are
available from the main page after you log in to https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bahai.us&data=02%7C01%7C%7C463d2cd77963414aad1d08d652164354%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636786652901710451&sdata=5obZrVgJr2g3Z9SxaRxtuR8hYc%2BUaWffr7r51g6zFfM%3D&reserved=0.

Milwaukee Cluster Gathering on 12 January 2019

Milwaukee Cluster Reflection Gathering
Keeping the Momentum Growing

Dear Friends,

The Milwaukee Cluster will soon enter the next cycle of growth
starting February through April 2019. The three-month cycle of
activities represents our effort of community building. ‘Religion
has often, in the past, produced the good individual. The primary
object of Bahá’u’lláh’s religion is to produce the good society.

Our next Cluster Gathering —
Date: Saturday, January 12, 2019
Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Place: The Wauwatosa Public Library, in the Firefly room on the ground
floor.

I would like to suggest the following. Prior to the upcoming
gathering, might we each consider and reflect on the steps listed
below to help prepare and hone our collective vision based on the
nature and reality of our community.

  1. List learning goals from previous planning meetings and state what
has been accomplished for each. *
  2. Summarize our understanding and insights gained (comparison,
    contrasts, analysis, synthesis, interpretation).
  3. Summarize skills acquired or improved.
  4. Summarize new feelings or attitudes experienced.
  5. Summarize changes in values or beliefs.
  6. Summarize ways we can apply or use what we have gained.

All are encouraged to participate in our upcoming reflection and
planning meeting. ‘When all voices are heard collective thoughts
through dialogue unfold and everyone’s understanding advances
together.’ May we all become increasingly involved in the life of
society, promoting unity and collaboration.

With warmest Baha’i love,

  • For example, our last cluster meeting took place in April of this
year. Reflection and planning resulted in our agreeing upon the
primary goal of engaging in elevated conversations inspired by the
NSA’s three letters addressing’“rampant materialism, widespread moral
decay, and a deeply ingrained racial prejudice’. Other core activities
such as devotionals, study groups, and home visits ranked equally
    important for individual initiatives.

Summer Camp Opportunity

There is an opportunity for children ages 8-12 to attend a camp this
coming summer in which the intended purpose of the camp is for
children to develop friendships with other children of a different
race, ethnicity, or economic status. If your child would be interested
in this, please contact Kathy Wurzer at kmwurzer@gmail.com.

December Devotional Meeting in Wauwatosa

Please join me for prayer gathering to help create moments of new
inspiration in a space that invites “thinking deeply.”

At the end of the devotional, participants are invited to share their
reflections, their own experiences. A wonderful process such as this
nourishes deeper levels of compassion for others and creates new
friendships. It offers to those who may have not had the opportunity
to connect at this level with others.

… [A]ll should gather together, and, harmoniously attuned one to
another, engage in prayer; with the result that out of this coming
together, unity and affection shall grow and flourish in the human
heart. – Abdu’l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu’l-Baha, pp. 94-95.

Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Looking for Feast locations and hosts:

The LSA has decided to hold some Feasts on the actual Feast night and
some on weekends. This will allow believers who work on the weekend to
attend some of our meetings.

Due to a library limit of 12 meetings per year per group, we cannot
hold all 19 Feasts each year in libraries. Can you hold a Feast in
your home? The Local Spiritual Assembly invites believers to offer to
host Feasts. No need to do it all. We can help you by bringing food,
drinks, or a selection of devotional readings. Please contact Terry
Hart at 414-353-7879 or email LSAMilwaukee@gmail.com. Coming up, the
Feast of Mulk / Dominion could be held on Wednesday evening, February
7th or on the following weekend.
