Regional Bicentenary Meeting – Sunday, August 6th at the Madison Baha’i Center

As we come very close to the historical Bicentenary celebration of Baha’u’llah’s birthday, we invite our region’s institutions, agencies, teams, and individuals to come together to study guidance, consult together, reflect on opportunities and possibilities, and make plans. We realize that many of our communities and individuals are already working on plans, so we hope that their experiences and ideas will add to the richness of this gathering!

As the Universal House of Justice in the Ridvan 2017 message states, “Viewed aright this year presents the single greatest worldwide opportunity there has ever been for connecting the hearts to Baha’u’llah.” And further, “As a highly auspicious year now commences, might not each one of us contemplate what heavenly deeds His grace may aid us to perform?”

Event: Bicentenary Meeting
When: Sunday, August 6th
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: Madison Baha’i Center

*A burrito lunch will be provided. Please bring a small salad, fruit or dessert to share.

Update and Planning: “From the Same Dust” July 20

The “From the Same Dust” group has been busy!! New community connections have been
made and ongoing activities are occurring with these new connections:

We brought various organizations together to plan an event called:
Fair Schools. Exfabula storytellers and a keynote speaker, Reggie
Jackson prepared listeners for a facilitated conversation.
Organizations involved in the event are interested in coming together
again for a future event.

We now have an ongoing monthly book study around the book, A Safe
Place to Talk About Race.

The past 4 weeks we have been meeting with others in Whitefish Bay who
are interested in racial justice. A facebook page will be coming out
soon highlighting upcoming events with a goal to try to grow our
group. There will be a village wide house-to-house flyer distribution
about the events and the facebook page. We’ll keep you updated!

Now we feel the need to have a meeting for our group, From the Same
Dust. It is time for prayer, reflection, studying the writings, and
thinking about next steps.

All are welcome and encouraged to join us in this process. We will
gladly welcome a Baha’i perspective and consultation to positively
impact our purpose to stimulate and animate a welcoming and diverse
Baha’i community.

Arrangements to care for children during the meeting can be made if a
week’s notice is given.
