Presentation: Food as Medicine (and more) in Cedarburg on Thursday, January 4th

The following presentation will be given by a Baha’i and will use references from the Baha’i Faith:

In the spirit of inspiring and elevating conversations of topics pertinent to the well-being of individuals and our communities, Dr. Andrea Levsen, will offer a talk entitled “Let Food Be Thy Medicine”, on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Cedarburg Public Library. The talk is free of charge and open to the public.

Drawing upon her unique background as an internationally-recognized educator, chemist, organic farmer and pharmacologist, Andrea will share her passion and expertise as she explores the pivotal role nutrition plays and will play in our journey to wellness. The exploration will go beyond the concept of Food as Medicine and will touch on how to navigate the abundance of information and utilize it effectively.

The principle of Food as Medicine is an evidence-based practice dating back millennia which is seeing a revitalization as our practices of healthcare are beginning a paradigm shift in focus. Its roots in eastern and foundational western medicine, as well as woven into many spiritual belief systems, the principle also draws upon the harmony of the interconnectedness and equilibrium of other areas of wellness, including psychological and spiritual wellness.

The presentation is sponsored by the Baha’i Community of Cedarburg
